Digital First Launches Investment Arm
Digital First Media is launching a new investment division in the first quarter of 2012, the company announced yesterday.
Digital First Ventures will make investments in tech startups focused on content, advertising and audience development.
“At Digital First Media we have learned the value of partnering with start-up pioneers to power our transformation from print to digital,” Digital First CEO John Paton said in a statement. Paton announced the new division during his keynote address at BIA/Kelsey’s ILM West conference in San Francisco.
“Partnering is vital to a company’s growth whether it is an established media company or start-up,” Paton said. “We are going to marry our scale with start-up innovation to build success.”
