Adicio, a job board software creator, has teamed up with three Washington, D.C.-based news organizations — Allbritton Communications-owned ABC affiliate WJLA and news site Politico and Hubbard Broadcasting-owned radio station WTOP — to launch career website PowerJobs.com, the companies announced today.

The new site is geared for employers and job seekers in the influential industries that make up D.C.’s workforce. It will focus on opportunities in defense, energy, finance, government, health care and technology, as well as nonprofit jobs.

Powerjobs.com uses mobile and social-networking tools to give job seekers a quick and effective way to view and respond to jobs online, the companies said. Select job listings will also be featured in Politico’s print newspaper, distributed five days a week when Congress is in session.

“The reach of PowerJobs.com is unmatched, making it easier to effectively connect employers to the district's top talent,” Rick Miller, CEO of Adicio, said in a statement. “We're excited to work with three of Washington’s top media companies, which reach the most politically active and influential audience in Washington, D.C., and nationwide.”

PowerJobs will be promoted prominently on-air, online and in print by Politico, WJLA and WTOP, as well as by Federal News Radio, WTOP’s sister station, and Allbritton’s local cable network NewsChannel 8.
