Foursquare Syndicates Voice Media Content

Location-based social company Foursquare will add Voice Media’s Voice Places event data for more than 50 categories in 11 markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Denver.

Voice Media Group today announced a strategic data syndication partnership with Foursquare. The location-based service will add Voice Media’s Voice Places event data for more than 50 categories in 11 markets.

The new content will allow Foursquare users to check into events, explore trending events, and find nearby events in those cities. Voice Media will also provide its "Best Of" content to Foursquare, as well as awarding city-specific, leveled badges based on "Best Of" check-ins.

"Content is king, and we feel that we have the best, most trusted, professionally curated local content in the country," Scott Tobias, CEO of Voice Media Group, said in a statemnt. "We are excited about this partnership with Foursquare, and we feel that it showcases the depth of our content across key verticals."

As part of the partnership, VMG will feature Foursquare content on its Voice Places desktop site.

"Foursquare is all about making the most of where you are, so we are always looking to partner with top publishers to provide interesting and relevant content on a city's history, culture, and events," Jonathan Crowley, director of media partnerships at Foursquare, said in a statement. "Our partnership with Voice Media Group will help bring expert local content to the nearly 30 million people in the Foursquare community."

Under the terms of the partnership, Foursquare will begin syndicating VMG's data in the following markets: New York; Los Angeles; Denver; Phoenix; Houston; Dallas; St. Louis; Miami; Minneapolis; Broward/Palm Beach, Fla.; Orange County, Calif.
