The Orange County Register is planning a Feb. 4 launch for its new “Everyday Heroes” program. The full-page feature will appear every Monday in the Local section and will “profile an inspiring person in Orange County who is enriching people’s lives, and offering their time and talents to demonstrate kindness toward others,” the paper said.

The profiles will celebrate people behind a simple gesture or complex solution that positively impacts Orange County. At the end of each month, a Hero of the Month will be selected by Register editors.

“Our goal with the Everyday Heroes program is to create more opportunities for our subscribers to celebrate and be inspired by people who share a passion for strengthening our community from their heart,” Aaron Kushner, Register owner and publisher, said in a statement. “We are always looking for new and meaningful ways to serve Orange County, and we hope this becomes a feature that our subscribers look forward to every Monday."

Local resort Montage Laguna Beach is joining the program as a sponsor and will award a two-night stay at the resort to each Hero of the Month.

The newspaper’s ocregister.com will run the weekly profiles, as well as a monthly video segment on each of the Hero of the Month selections filmed at Montage Laguna Beach.
