NYT, WSJ, Other Media Hit By China Hackers
On the heels of yesterday's report from The New York Times that its computer systems had been repeatedly infiltrated by hackers it said had ties to the Chinese military, other media companies have stepped forward with similar claims. Dow Jones & Co. Thursday night reported that The Wall Street Journal's computer systems was also the victim of cyberspying by Chinese hackers. Both papers indicated that the attacks likely targeted reporters covering China. Other media companies, including the BBC and Reuters, have also reported that they were victims of the hackers. China on Thursday dismissed the Times' claims, saying that Chinese laws "clearly forbid hacking attacks."
