NYT Taps Howard To Head Video Production


The New York Times named Rebecca Howard GM of video production, effective February 18. In the newly created role, Howard will develop and grow the newspaper’s video content across all platforms.

She will report to Jill Abramson, executive editor of The New York Times, and Denise Warren GM of NYTimes.com and senior VP and chief advertising officer of The New York Times Media Group.

“Video journalism is an essential and growing component of our news report,” Abramson said in a statement. “We will rely heavily on Rebecca’s experience in creating engaging and quality content as we expand our excellent video offerings.”

Howard joins The Times from AOL Huffington Post Media Group where she has been head of video development since 2010. Previously, she was VP of production at Fox Digital Studios and a production designer for commercials and feature films.
